Face masks by skin type
It is important to 1) know your skin type and 2) choose a recipe suited for that skin type. Here’s an overview of the simplest skin masks by each skin type.
Normal skin type
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
Simple mash a banana and apply to face. Let it rest for 20 minutes or so. The best thing to do it to rinse it off with unsweetened chamomile tea but regular, lukewarm water is just fine. This mask can be applied 1 to 2 times a week.
Dry skin type
Ingredients:
- 200 ml (7oz) of yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of finely ground almonds
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of wheat germ oil
Mix in a bowl and apply to face. Let it rest until it feels dry and rinse off with luke warm water.
Oily Skin Type
Ingredients:
- 200 ml (7oz) of yogurt
- 2 drops of menthol oil
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of inactive yeast
- 1 potato
Peel a potato and place it in a bowl of water. Let it stay there for a couple of hours. You will need 2 teaspoons of this water. Mix in all the ingredients and add those 2 tablespoon of “potato water”. Apply to skin, let it rest for 20-30 min and rinse with lukewarm water.
Combination skin type
Ingredients:
1 potato
Peel the potato and cut it into thin slices. Place it on the face and let it rest for about 15min. Rinse off with chamomile tea or lukewarm water if you don”t have tea handy.
Problem Skin Type
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of active brewer’s yeast
Heat up yeast over steam. You can put it on your skin up to 3 times a day.
It is recommended that you drink fresh carrot juice daily when applying this, it is supposed to enhance the effects.
