The history of mankind is rich about the usage of natural oils and their healing properties. People from every corner of the world, be they young, adults, infants or elderly, have been benefiting from the healing characteristics of natural oils for their physical, psychological, emotional and even spiritual diseases. Mostly used for skin diseases, natural oils are equally important for other physical, mild and severe, diseases including bacterial and viral infections.

By applying steam distillation, natural oils are extracted from the plants. When the steam penetrates into the plants it extracts condensed and volatile oils. However, to get a small content of oil, enormous quantity of raw plant-material is required. For instance a pound of rose oil will take about two thousand rose petals. This also shows that the extracted oil will, then, be highly concentrated. Because of this concentration, single oil may contain a wide range of chemicals and thus become significantly efficient for healing purposes. Similarly, natural healing oils available in market are rich in oil properties in comparison with other pharmaceutical medicines in which only a trace of active ingredient is sufficient.

The application of natural healing oils is very simple; their usage is restricted to the skin only. The skin absorbs the oils and let them enter blood capillaries and consequently circulate throughout the body. Here it must be noted that natural healing oils are distinct from other drugs in three ways. First, they are quickly excreted from the body because they do not amass in it. Second, usual medicines that are swallowed, natural healing oils bypass the stomach and liver and reach the target spot where they are needed; meaning thereby their properties are not affected by metabolic reactions. And finally, their application on human skin in rarely followed by side-effects. Since their natural characteristics are not alien to human body, they are mostly harmless.

Then natural healing oils are widely used for psychological abnormalities, physical diseases and cosmetics imbalances. Following is a brief overview of some of the natural healing oils in connection with their remedial qualities.
